GIS Developer
Summary
Placeways LLC, a 2011 Esri Business Partner Award-winning software and services company, is seeking a talented, creative, and enthusiastic software developer for work on CommunityViz and related ArcGIS extensions and 3D landscape visualization tools.
Description
The position includes architecture, design, implementation, and Tier 2 support as a major contributor to a small team developing desktop and web GIS applications. The work involves both maintenance of existing platforms and development of new tools and applications. The development environment is primarily .NET and C#.
Qualifications
Prior commercial development experience is highly desired. Additional criteria:
-BS in computer science, engineering, geography, or related field.
-2+ years experience in C# or VB, Visual Studio.NET, and the .NET framework
-Proven experience developing custom applications/extensions with Esri's ArcObjects
-Experience with Esri's ArcGIS Desktop products (ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcToolbox)
-Experience with Esri ArcSDE and ArcServer
-Familiarity with the ArcGIS JavaScript API or similar
-Strong knowledge of object-oriented design principles
-Experience in relational databases
-Attention to detail and knowledge of software best practices
Additional Desired Skills
-Experience in COM application development
-Familiarity with Esri's ArcSDE and ArcServer
-Familiarity with geoprocessing tools and Python scripting
-C++
